Ode to NaNoWriMo 2017:
or, the poem of a procrastinator

by Killarney Traynor

Unplug your internet
And lock the office door.
You've written many words
and needs must write some more.

"Write 50k in words"
Seemed easy at the start.
Until you got distracted
and the plan fell all apart.

Now you look for distractions
You beg to walk the dog
anything to avoid
several day's of backlog.

"What did I sign up for ?
Maybe I was insane?
For who but a crazy
Would ask for all this pain?"

But if you stay at the task
And glued to desk and pen
Delight will be the outcome
And you'll sign up once again.
